Free Cruise to Spectacle Island | Seaport | Free

Join Save the Harbor/Save the Bay on one of our free Share the Harbor cruises to the Boston Harbor Islands! On Monday, August 6, Save the Harbor will set sail to Spectacle Island for a day of fun, art on the shore, fishing, swimming, and crabbing. Cruises are free and open to the public, and will begin boarding at 10:00 AM at the World Trade Center Dock for a 10:30 departure.

Salary Negotiation Workshop | Back Bay | Free

August 7th is Black Women's Equal Pay Day. Black women earn $0.52 compared to a man's dollar in Boston according to an analysis of employer-reported wage data by the Boston Women's Workforce Council. As a way of raising awareness and mobilizing people around Black Women's Equal Pay Day we have partnered with AAUW, WeWork, and SPARK Boston to host a Work Smart in Boston workshop.

Vocal Jazz Cafe | Roxbury | Free

Every Tuesday at Slade’s Bar & Grill stop by for the Vocal Jazz Cafe. Hosted by Kaicee King, sign up for the open mic and have the opportunity to sing with the band. No dress code and free cover.

Powerhouse: A Meetup for Creative Women | Quincy | Free

Not only is our Summer Dock Party an opportunity for current and past members to reconnect with each other, but also a time for CBI to welcome non-members into our sailing community. Sixth Annual Outdoor Community Tables | Roxbury | $ (Suggested Donation)

Join us Saturday, August 11, at 5pm for our 6th Annual Outdoor Community Tables Dinner! This year’s outdoor pay-what-you-can feast will feature a delicious, made-from-scratch buffet dinner (including dessert), with plenty of vegetarian options. Much of the meal will make use of produce sourced and donated by local farms, including Haley House’s own Thornton Urban Farm in Highland Park (Roxbury). The meal will be prepared by Haley House Bakery Café chefs with the help of volunteers. Community Tables is more than just a meal. It is a time to meet our neighbors, find common ground, and celebrate food and one another. We believe that everyone deserves a seat at the table and everyone has a story to tell. In celebration of the city of Boston rich cultural history, Lion Entertainment Boston Premier Promotional Powerhouse annually hosts Reggae in the Park in the lovely greeting area grounds of the Franklin Park Zoo. An event which took years in the making, Reggae in the Park, demanded the combined efforts of the leadership team of the Franklin Park Zoo, commanding officers of the Massachusetts State Police and stewardship of key members of the city of Boston to make the landmark event work. Reggae in the Park is a "Coachella type" park gathering where people of all walks of life can gather and enjoy the sweet, soothing sounds of top performing artists who perform the genre of music commonly known as Reggae - popular in the Caribbean diaspora and originating from Jamaica. Flip-Flop Reggata 2018 | Charlestown | Free - $$$

Since 2003, the Flip Flop Regatta has been a highlight the Boston sailing calendar - a big boat pursuit race that begins in Broad Sound, heads out and around the Brewsters, and finishes in the Inner Harbor. Many visiting racers head straight to Courageous’ Pier 4 in Charlestown to tie up, relax, and enjoy the after-party, usually one of the best and biggest Boston Harbor-side parties of the summer. The Flip Flop Regatta has been near and dear to the Courageous Sailing family since its founding in 2003, in memory of Ally Zapp. The regatta supported the efforts of the Ally Foundation to end sexual violence through science and innovation through 2013. For the first time in 2018, Courageous Sailing will run the regatta and after-party, and all proceeds will go directly to support Courageous kids!
